Lunar eclipse

My Nikon compact (Coolpix 9100), an 18 times zoom (450 mm) then I threw in the 4x digital zoom as well to take it to 1530 mm lol. I am amazed it worked at all, I turned down the exposure as much as I could -2, set the ISO at its lowest setting, 160 and used auto focus, 2 second shutter delay with a tripod, pressed the button and hoped for the best :-). Works much better than my big DSLR. Pity the clouds came over shortly after the eclipse started :-(

Full moon over Canberra

I took this photo of a full moon from my house in Canberra in August 2007. The camera was handheld at F8, 0.125 (1/80) of a second, ISO 50 and a focal length of 504 mm. The moon puts out a lot of light, and that is why I could take this picture without a tripod. I cropped the photo very heavily.

Pandanus moon

I took this shot at Gitan on Elcho Island one late July 2008 afternoon, and was lucky to have a full moon juxtaposed against a Pandanus tree.
