Pumpkin scarecrows

The small town of Collector outside Canberra is famous for its annual pumpkin festival. here are pumpkins dressed up as scarecrows to keep the birds away! I photographed this in .. where else but Collector, in May 2008

Giant pumpkins!

We met this man at Café Lerida at Lake George outside Canberra in May 2008. he was proudly displaying his giant pumpkin which won third prize in the Collector show. He was very disappointed that two of the other competitors had been able to grow bigger pumpkins than him. For the record, this pumpkin weighed in at 113.6 kg!
