Storm waves at Coogee Beach in Sydney

Huge waves and swells at Giles Bath on the northern side of Coogee Beach in Sydney in June 2008. It is hard to get a perspective on just how big the waves were, but trust me, they were massive! I was standing about 8 meters above where the waves were breaking. In the background is Wedding cake Island. The photo below, taken in June 2007, gives some perspective on how big the rocks are and how big the waves really are. Look closely or click on the image and you can see a boy crouching behind one of the rocks as the waves hit.
