Rough road
This photo was taken in June 2008 and show a police vehicle on the main road on Elcho Island from Galiwinku to Gawa. I took this picture to highlight just how bad this road it. It is 65 km long and in the wet season turns into a river. Even in the dry season it is a challenging road with lots of sand and deep corrugations and ruts. Not much fun to negotiate and very uncomfortable to drive on.
