Cemetery at 2nd Creek
This is the cemetery at the Second Creek Outstation on Elcho Island and I took these pictures in September 2008. It doesn't look like an Aboriginal cemetery at all and this is because the Yolngu in Arnhem land were influenced by contact with Macassan traders from Indonesia. The coloured flags represent various clan groups. An interesting mixture of Christianity, symbolised by the cross, Indonesian and local traditional influences.
