Long way home
Big distances on the Central Arnhem Road in Northern Australia. The term road is a misnomer, it is not much more than a 4wd track. Bulman is an Aboriginal community and the Stuart Highway is the main road in the territory connecting Darwin and Alice Springs to Adelaide in South Australia. Taken in October 2008 just outside the very remote mining town of Nhulunbuy, at the end of the road. Most of the road is unsealed, pitted with corrugations and is cut off when the monsoon rains fall. I am currently working and living in the Aboriginal of Gapuwiyak, 215 km from Nhulunbuy.
