Vote for Yingluck!

Mobile election poster for Yingluck Shinawartra and her party on Suranaree Road in Khorat (Nakhon Ratchasima), Thailand in June 2011. The loudspeaker on the vehicle was very loud.

  1. Yingluck Shinawatra might look like a political "novice" as many are saying, but I feel she's far from it. Being the sister of a former PM, she's likely had a lot of political experience (whether intentionally or not), but he's not stealing her spotlight, but his massive support does have an effect. Since he was ousted in a military (bloodless) coup in 2006, the majority of Thai voters seem to be extremely discontent, until Yingluck was recently elected and the majority vote was honored. Unlike many previous politicians that were elected as prime minister, Yingluck did not study to in university with the intention of later practicing as a Thailand lawyer and though she won a landslide victory; I believe she'll have a lot of challenges to face for sure. Thailand has a lot of social issues and issues with the Thai-Cambodia border as well. Managing all those issues will be a very intricate task.
