Air Frontier pilot Robert John Baxter died in this Cessna 210 plane crash 600 metres east of Gapuwiyak Airport on 4 February 2001. He was 26 at the time. Very sad, and a poignant memorial to the tragic and unnecessary loss of a young life. Especially sombre are the chairs either side of the grave. More information on the tragedy here. Rest in peace.
